Description:
This class introduces the Outlook app for Windows 11 (version 23H2 and later) as a free email application that consolidates messages from various providers. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, including the Calendar and People apps, allowing users to manage their schedules and contacts effectively. Users can add multiple email accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and iCloud, to access all their emails in one streamlined interface, which offers familiar features for users of classic Outlook.
- The Outlook Mail interface consists of three main panels: a left panel for folders (Inbox, Drafts, Sent), a center panel for email headers, and a right panel for reading messages. Users can customize their views, such as enabling conversation-style threading, through the settings menu. The app also features both a classic and simplified ribbon with tools for composing, formatting, and managing emails and contacts.
- The Calendar app synchronizes with Outlook, Gmail, and Yahoo calendars, allowing users to create events that include details like title, time, location, and invitees.
- The People app stores contact information and facilitates group mailings. New users receive setup guidance that includes instructions for linking accounts and adjusting permissions.
Advanced features include automatic signatures, message options, and synchronization across devices. The final slides provide steps to enhance usability, show installation prompts, offer setup guidance, and detail additional configuration requirements for non-Microsoft accounts, such as Gmail. Users are encouraged to complete a class evaluation to provide feedback.
