Prerequisites:
- Have activated Android smartphone.
- Know the basics of unlocking the phone.
- The phone should be less than 6 years old.
- Attended Android Smartphone Basics class or have equivalent skill level.
Objectives:
- Utilize the Google Gmail app effectively for email management.
- Navigate menus and context menus within the Gmail app.
- Understand and apply email protocols like Cc and Bcc.
- Attach files and photos to email messages.
- Organize emails using labels and view modes.
- Create and add automatic signatures to emails.
- Utilize Google Maps for navigation purposes, including finding locations and obtaining directions.
- Share your location with others using Google Maps.
Description:
This course encompasses the use of Gmail, other email applications, navigation via Google Maps, and internet browsing with Chrome.
Email
- Receiving, replying to, forwarding, and managing emails
- Composing and editing emails
- Saving drafts and dispatching emails
- Integrating other accounts (e.g., Outlook, Yahoo)
- Edison Mail+ serves as an example of an alternative email application.
- Various ISPs (Internet Service Providers) offer their proprietary email applications (e.g., Outlook, Yahoo Mail).
- It's possible to incorporate additional email accounts into most email applications. Some providers might necessitate a secure mail key for integration into other applications.
- Calendar Synchronization: Certain email services support calendar synchronization across multiple devices (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud).

- Locating places

Additional Information:
The focus of this class is on Gmail and Chrome as the default browser. Android supports a variety of other web browsers and email applications.
- Be vigilant of spam and phishing emails, which may contain dubious links or senders. Applications like Edison Mail+ can assist in identifying such emails.
- The material provides a concise overview of the POP and IMAP email protocols.
- Note that when emails are deleted, some providers may only retain them in the trash for a limited period.
