PC BASIC BEGINNING COMPUTER SKILLS (CLASS 1)

Prerequisites:

This class is only for very beginning computer users.  No basic computer skills needed. 

This class is ONLY taught on Classroom Computers.



Objectives:

Participants will learn essential skills to access and effectively use a computer, including:
  • Basic Keyboard and Mouse Usage:  Students will become familiar with the keyboard layout and mouse functions, including clicking, double-clicking, and scrolling which are fundamental for navigating any computer interface.
  • Navigating Windows Operating System:  The course will cover how to operate within the Windows environment, including understanding the desktop, using the Start menu, and managing open applications.  Students will learn how to log on and off, as well as how to shut down the computer properly.
  • Working with Applications:  Participants will explore various applications commonly used on PCs, such as word processors and web browsers.  They will learn hot to create, save, and manage files, enhancing their ability to perform everyday tasks.  Discover how to connect and use a printer to produce physical copies of your documents.



Description:

This class is tailored for very beginning computer users, meaning no prior computer skills are necessary. It is ideal for those who may feel intimidated by technology or have never used a computer before.  Instructors will provide hands-on guidance to ensure that each participant feels comfortable and supported as they navigate their new skills.
