Prerequisites:
- Participants must have their iPhone or iPad updated to iOS 18.2. To check and update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Devices not running iOS 18.2 will not be supported in class.
- For assistance with updating your device or resetting a forgotten Apple ID password, register for Tech Help the Tuesday before the class.
- Participants must bring their device, Apple ID, Apple Store access, email account, and Google passwords.
- Participants should bring a list of apps they wish to learn about and potentially download (e.g., travel apps, Uber/Lyft, The GRAND Living App, Stocks app, Books app).
- This class is designed for novice through experienced users.
Objectives:
Understand the internet and how it connects you to the global community.
- Log in with face, fingerprint, or passcode.
- Set up and use Face ID and passcodes.
- Research apps in the App Library and App Store.
- Move, delete, and organize apps into folders.
- Download and use the Apple Support App to manage subscriptions, reset passwords, and check Apple Care coverage.
- Set up and use the "Find My" app.
- Use the Notes and Reminders apps.
- Use Maps and get directions from Siri.
- How to search for help on the internet.
Description:
This class is for beginning and intermediate students using iPhones/iPads and who want to learn to manage their apps more efficiently.
We will discuss and use the Apple apps that come with the devices and learn what to look for and how to download other apps from the App Store. There are currently close to two million Apple apps for sports, travel, news, weather, recipes, health, finance, chatting, writing your life story, games and so much more! How do you decide?
Bring your iPads and iPhones and your questions and we will answer them in class!
