Number of Sessions: 1
Fee: $10
Instructor: Don Singer

Prerequisites:
  • Own or regularly use at least one Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)
  • Have an Apple ID
  • Basic familiarity with turning your device on, unlocking it, and opening apps

Objectives:

By the end of this class, participants will be able to:
  • Understand how Apple devices are designed to work together as an integrated system
  • Identify which Apple devices and accessories are part of the "Apple Universe"
  • Recognize how shared data (photos, messages, notes, files) sync across devices
  • Understand the role of iCloud and Apple ID in connecting devices
  • Gain confidence using multiple Apple devices together more efficiently

Description:

Have you ever wondered why your photos, messages, notes, and files magically appear on all your Apple devices? That’s the Apple Universe at work.

This class provides a big-picture overview of how Apple designs its devices—iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, and more—to work together seamlessly. We’ll explain how shared apps, common data, and iCloud allow you to start something on one device and continue it on another with little effort.

You’ll learn how everyday tools like Photos, Messages, Notes, Reminders, Find My, Apple Wallet, and CarPlay behave the same across devices, while adjusting to different screen sizes and input methods. We’ll also clarify common points of confusion, such as syncing delays, storage options, and why some features appear everywhere while others don’t.

This is not a step-by-step “how-to” for individual apps. Instead, it’s designed to help you understand how everything fits together, so future Apple classes—and daily use—make much more sense.
